Adam Ponte is a Shareholder in the Boston office of Fletcher Tilton PC, where he chairs the Litigation Department and serves on the firm’s Management Committee. Adam’s practice focuses on complex civil litigation, representing businesses and individuals in construction matters and risk management, real estate conflicts, fiduciary litigation, business disputes and employment cases.
In his construction practice, Mr. Ponte negotiates commercial and residential construction agreements and litigates on behalf of developers, owners, and contractors. He advises clients on various construction contracts, including those from the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA), and ConsensusDocs. Additionally, he handles licensing, zoning, and permit matters, including applications before various permitting authorities in Massachusetts.
Mr. Ponte earned his bachelor’s degree from The College of the Holy Cross and his law degree from Boston University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and before the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Prior to law school, he worked as a business technology consultant with Accenture, Comcast Corporation, and NBCUniversal. During his legal studies, he interned with the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office Cyber Protection Unit, served as a summer associate with Collora LLP in Boston, and clerked with The Kraft Group in Foxborough, MA.
Active in the legal community, Mr. Ponte is a member of the Holy Cross Lawyers Association, Massachusetts Bar Association, and Asian American Lawyers Association of Massachusetts. In 2023, he was named a Go To Construction Lawyer by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly and that same year was a 40 Under 40 recipient by Boston Business Journal. Mr. Ponte was previously appointed by Governor Charlie Baker to the state’s Judicial Nominating Commission.

Fletcher Tilton’s construction team represents project owners, general contractors, construction managers and subcontractors through the entire life-cycle of any construction project, including both commercial and residential jobs. Legal services may include:
- Preparation and negotiation of complex construction agreements, including AIA Contract Documents, DBIA and ConsensusDocs or other customized construction contract forms.
- Risk management, Insurance and such other due diligence related tasks.
- Mechanic’s lien enforcement, prevention or resolution.
- Change order disputes, management or resolution.
- Construction litigation or arbitration.
The firm routinely handles preparation of Notices of Contract and other required lien documents to be carefully prepared and recorded with the Registry of Deeds.
The firm represents institutional project owners and developers in the negotiation of complex, high value construction agreements. Representative projects include costs-plus-fee guaranteed maximum price, lump-sum or such other agreements routinely exceeding $10MM to $100MM in total anticipated costs.
The firm often serves as counsel to individuals or realty trusts seeking to renovate or construct residential properties, with representative projects valued from $350,000 to $10MM.
The firm specializes in representing academic institutions with complex needs related to development and construction of campus, research and student life facilities.
The firm represents general contractors, construction managers, subcontractors and vendors asserting payment claims against project owners or prime contractors, including complex payment and performance bond claims, demands for direct payment, and litigation based upon breach of contract, mechanic’s lien and other related causes of action.
