Jim Richardson is one of the state’s leading trial lawyers in complex commercial litigation.
Jim served as lead counsel in the successful settlement of one of Austin’s most complex commercial real estate and construction cases involving Met Center 10, a 350,000 sq. ft. office building near Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, as reported in the Austin Business Journal.

Jim is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is also Board Certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy in Civil Trial Law and Civil Practice Advocacy. He has been re-certified multiple times.
Jim is an active member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, an invitation-only national association of leading trial lawyers and judges. He has served as a course director, moderator, and presenter on trial advocacy, evidence, and procedure. He served as Editor-in-Chief of the Tulsa Law Review.

- Recovered civil penalties for client of $5,500 and attorneys’ fees of $521,086.72 in a landlord retaliation case, all amounts paid to client.
- Prevailed in dismissing claims with prejudice under Rule 91a, including expunging a lis pendens on real estate.
- Prosecuted multiple parties stemming from a fraudulent scheme to steal $8,000,000 through bogus invoices, confidential settlement reached.
- Defended attorneys against a claim for lost profits relating to integrated circuit for Intel motherboards, summary judgment granted.
- Multiparty lead counsel in United States Superfund litigation related to a former mining operation, confidential settlement reached.
- Represented manufacturer as to construction defect claims regarding roofing materials for a residential condominium project.
- Prosecuted lawsuit for breach of fiduciary duty as to insider commercial real estate loans, confidential settlement reached.
- Prosecuted claims for invasion of privacy and other torts related to secret video surveillance, confidential settlement reached.
- Prosecuted claims for breach of real estate partnership and fraud, confidential settlement reached after five-day favorable jury verdict.
- Prosecuted claims against a Fortune 100 bank for breach of contract, confidential settlement reached after a five-day winning verdict.
- Prosecuted claims against a Fortune 500 petroleum company for wrongful termination of an executive employee, confidential settlement reached after a ten-day jury trial.
- Represented the executor against alleged claims for breach of fiduciary duty as to an automobile dealership, case dismissed.
